  • Ask yourself another question: Must there be a reason for anything?

Of course not. There is an old saying that the center of the Universe is here. Meaning that you and where ever you are is the center of the Universe. All you need concern yourself with is all about you, right here and right now. Live in the moment. If you concern yourself with moments gone by or moments to come then the experience of here and now is lost to you forever. Savor every aspect of the here and now. The reason you exist is yours alone to create as is the life you live.
Meditation is worthy of your consideration because it increases your awareness and enables you to experience each moment more completely. In the deepest states of meditation you experience nothingness, which, oddly enough, is so blissful you are quite content within the experience. Once you've had the experience you never again fear death.
But it is not necessary, if you simply dedicate yourself to living in the moment you will find that death, the meaning of life, the reason for everything, etc, have no significance.
