Find meaning to your own life I guess. If you've been through a few bad relationships then I think it is normal to feel like being in a relationship is more trouble than it's worth. I don't blame you, that's why I say to do whatever makes you happy. Alternatively if you're feeling lonely, you don't have to go out and find a boyfriend; just a friend. But if you mean like lonely in bed, well honestly you could try to establish a friends with benefits relationship. No trouble, no mess (usually), just casual sex and friendship.
I have had a FwB myself and in MY experience those kinds of things can be pretty dramatic too. I'd say that It isn't a good idea for this person to establish a sexual relationship with someone if he/she suffers from anxiety.
Is it normal to have almost no desire for sex or dating anymore?

I had a few FwBs, and it's just not something I want to deal with again. Someone usually gets attached, and I don't want to hurt or be hurt.

Yeah. I'd do it again, but I will think twice before risking a frienship again.
