Is it normal to have absolutely no clue what to do after school?

I have 9 days left of high school and I'm completely lost. The worst part is everyones telling me what I should do family, friends even people i've never met on Instagram are telling me what my life should be like. I spent my whole life working towards going to college and I applied to so many colleges. I'm graduating with a 3.6 gpa and got accepted into my dream college University of Texas, as well as my 2 backups USC and Emmanuel College but I've decided not to attend, do to not knowing what I want to do I applied for the marketing programs and its not that I've lost interest but that I have different plans for how I feel I could apply it. I have a group of friends out in LA 1 who owns a clothing brand and 2 who are musicians living together and they want me to move in and do their graphic design work (i'm self taught and have been doing it for almost 4 years not) but what I really enjoy is spending time with friends and traveling and doing a recent interest of mine (photography). I feel the current job I'm working at is just a waste of time and making me less productive, but I need money right? I feel like I'm really being held back by it and not letting me do everything I need to do to complete where I need to be. Im lost but what I want to so in just get lost and travel for a living. My family and girlfriend are telling me I'm wasting an opportunity by not going to college and so many of my friends are leaving to their college. I don't know where I should be. If any of you have advice it would be greatly appreciated, I feel till I figure out what I want I wont go anywhere.

It's totally normal for you to feel the way you do. I ended up joining the airforce. One of things that we did was an aptitude test. We were brought in to the office one at a time and I asked what my aptitude test was like and I was told I could be anything I wanted. Holy crap! I should have picked flight school but ended up picking ground communication. I got some training in computer logic circuits (remember this was 1968) so when I left the airforce 10 years later I entered the computer game and went from rack mounted behemoths to the computers we have today.

So pick SOMETHING anything to get you started and the rest will fall into place.

The LA gig sounds promising. The music friends I would not consider because there are tons of garage bands that get no where but you didn't say how established they were. If they are already a name then maybe....You could combine your other interests at the same time.

I went through a similar crisis in highschool and after I graduated. My mom was the same way. I had to really get to know myself before I was able to find my passion. Right now, I'm trying to figure if I should find work in a certain field or not.

It may sound strange coming from me, but your talent seems pretty obvious to me. Art. I think you should take your friends up on their offer. It will give you experience and something to have in your resume or portfolio if you later decide to go to art school.

Ok snowflake. You sound entitled. You're not. Until you can provide the things you want for yourself, you don't deserve anything.

Go out and make a living.

Geez I dunno. I've had to work since I was thirteen to buy groceries so I could cook food for my dad and brother. I had to cook, clean do laundry and work.

I am currently putting myself through school so that I never have to be poor again. Not to find my interests but to get a stable job so I can support my self.

This entitled brat wants to quit school and quit work because its a waste of time, so they can hang with friends and travel.

What the fuck is wrong with OP? What the fuck is wrong with you to encourage such an attitude about life?

Finally why the fuck would I have empathy for that?

I did. I respect where you're coming from, even though I disagree with your approach towards the OP.

What if someone has a very sick mom and they don't go to work because they want to have more free time to stay home with their sick mother? Does that person deserve anything?

Sorry I just get frustrated about this kind of thing because I don't go to work, and people think there is something wrong with me for it. Maybe they are right though.
