Is it normal to have a lot of girl friends but not date any of them?

I'm a "cute" or "hot" freshman guy that has a lot of girl friends (not dating). They're not sluts or popular just cool girls I like to talk to and stuff. A few of them like me, but I don't like them back. Then I like some of them and they don't back (at least I think). I don't want to screw up any friendships with a short, lousy relationship. What should I do and is it normal not to want to sacrifice friendships for relationships?

    It's normal but I think you are wasting your time with them. Find some girl whose friends don't know you (multiple of reasons), that will most likely yield a more serious relationship.

    I have plenty of friends who are girls,and yes, i have tried to ask a couple of them out at one time or another, with bad results. I have never lost a friend due to that, although there are a few awkward weeks after.

    If you're not dating them, they're not your girlfriends, just friends who are girls. get over yourself.
