Is it normal to have a fetish for vintage (40's/50's style) dresses?

For some reason I've always had a fetish for women in vintage style dresses. The kind of dress that has a petticoat under it to make it all poofy and fluffy.

I'm attracted to normal dresses and skirts too, but I don't find them attractive if they're not below the knee. Vintage dresses turn me on the most.

I think the weirdest thing about it is that this legitimately turns me on more than a completely naked woman. In fact, I'm not even attracted to naked women *at all*. But man, dresses and skirts that go below the knee really accentuate a woman's beauty for me. And a classic poofy dress expresses it the best.

I'm just wondering how common this is, and if there is anyone else who is the same way.

    They do look nice and classy though. I love them. I like some of the old hairstyles too. I'm sick of this hairstyle that everyone has these days which is just boring hair that's down + split down the middle + straight/flat at the top and then gets wavy/curly at about eye/ear length. I see it way too much so I'm just dying for some visual hair change at this point

    Back to the dresses though...
    They're lovely as well as the petticoats! They also look great when dancing and compliment the legs so well :)

      Really glad I'm not the only one that seems to be into the vintage style!

      It's just a silly dream of mine but I hope that one day this style of fashion for women becomes mainstream again. I find it so much nicer than the plain style that most women have these days.

      (Also low-key would like to have a girlfriend that dresses vintage style for me. Jeez, just thinking about that is turning me on in more ways than I can imagine...)

        Things that were once popular/trendy tend to make a come back at some point so with any luck your dream will come true :)

        And hopefully you find that special girl. Of all the things people ask for or get turned on by, that's the least ridiculous or demanding I'd say

        If I was in a relationship and that's all they wanted I'd be like sign me up! Lol
        I love the fashion and it's really flattering to the waist, legs, shoes, plus they'd love it as much as I do!? It's a nice dream you know? :)

          You make me feel less weird about my fetish. I mostly just wonder how common it is for a guy to be more attracted to a woman in a dress than a woman who's naked.

          Dresses (especially vintage ones) make women seem so colorful and vibrant. There's also lots of variety in the fabrics and designs that can make them look even prettier. It seems like most people just want women to take their clothes off but that's actually a turn off for me.

            I'm not sure how common it is but I think it's more common than you think 🤔

            Maybe not AS common with this specific type of clothing(though I think there's a community around this), but I've heard of this before on IIN where people have posted about being turned on while a woman is still in clothing/lingerie but once they remove it and are fully naked it becomes a turn off

            For some it's the clothing itself that's the turn on, for some it's the modesty that's the turn on, and for some it's the excitement that comes with their imagining of what's under the clothes

            So I'd say you have a little community you fit into in some way! :D

            I'm sure if you poked around online you'd find some sort of website full of others who feel the same way, and if not, maybe you could start your own :)

            And when you started talking about fabrics and designs... Like I could listen to you talk about this fetsih for an hour on a podcast or something lol😆

            I like that you go into detail about it

            Everyone seems to shorten things so much on this website, and I guess part of it is because they feel weird talking about certain things that they feel they'll be judged on, but sometimes people bring up things that sound really interesting or I relate to/agree with and want to hear more😅

            If IIN ever makes a community podcast, I hope you'd be on there at some point to talk about this

              Oh gosh if there's actually a community for these types of people then PLEASE tell me where they are. I'm always surrounded by people that just want to look at porn and whatnot and I've always had to keep my love for dresses to myself. It has gotten quite lonely, which is why I asked this question on this site in the first place.

              I'm definitely more on the "modest" side of the spectrum, I don't really get excited thinking about what's under the clothes. I mean honestly, I prefer women in any kind of clothing over being naked. It's just that dresses are the only thing that gives me the "sexual" kind of excitement, if you know what I mean.

              I have looked around the internet and I have found a few people *somewhat* similar to me, but I never saw anything about vintage dresses in particular... which is what I'm attracted to the most.

              I've also never been able to find a "women in dresses appreciation" type community. It's always lewd stuff no matter where you look. It'd be even better if it was a "women in vintage dresses appreciation" community but that might be asking a bit much. 😆

              It makes sense that people shorten things on this site, they're probably just insecure about a lot of it. Tbh I'm insecure about this topic as well, which is why I've never told any of my real life friends/family about it. It's actually so bad that I pretty much just pretend like I'm asexual around everyone. lol

      Seems like dresses similar to the one I described are rare these days. It makes sense though, since it's such an old style.

      Yeah they are pretty pricey. I have a few of them. After washing them by hand about six times, the threads seem to get loose. My boyfriend had to sew the weak parts. They're fine now, but I don't recommend getting dresses from Hot Topic. XD
