First off, I don't think you should drive under this condition.
Secondly, I think you need to go to a doctor. My mother used to have a simliar condition. It turned out she was having seizures. Not all seizures are the dramatic fall on the ground type. She would just "space out" as well.
She is now on medication for epilepsy and it doesn't happen to her anymore.
