Is it normal to have a crush on your sibling?

I am not affected by this personally, but even though its considered wrong and disgusting, I have a weird feeling that once in a while, it is possible to have a crush on your sibling.

Is It Normal?

  • Even if it is not kept as a crush, desiring another family member is not an abnormality. It is quite common, actually, based on the experiences of acquaintances and me.

I believe too much is made about the what and the who of sexuality and sexual expression. As long as the parties are of the legal age of consent in their respective State, Country, Province or other governmental entity, it should be left to the involved parties - and no others.

  • It is quite common to develop feelings for a sibling of the gender you're attracted to, especially if you're young and both living at home. Simple familiarity increases the likelihood of developing feelings. Acting on those feelings, however, can be very disruptive to the family—and most people know it, too, which is why most people who develop sibling crushes never act on them. I fell totally in love with my sister when she was fifteen, and I was twenty-one, but I never told her, because I treasure her as a sister.

  • Desiring family members is normal. American society has made acting on it abnormal. I grew up having sex with my four sisters, and we all grew up normal and healthy.

  • As long as you keep it as a crush, it's fine. Family crushes are pretty common tbh, so you shouldn't be too scared.

  • It's probably not abnormal to have a crush on your sibling -- it would be way abnormal to act on it.
