Just based on her reactions from the first time seeing her in 2009 and chit chatting with her regarding some class she probably took and never thought about again YET you remembered the actual class, the professor, and the fact SHE was in the class with you probably creeped her out some.
If she didnt go out of her way to talk to you or contact you in seeing her again recently at that store she probably hadnt thought of you once during the time period between now and 2009.
In all honesty you probably have some romantic version in your head of how she is that is nothing like what the real person is at all. If its 7 yrs since HS and she is working at some mundane retail job that is a little telling to me.
You should probably just let it go entirely, if you do run into her be polite but leave it at that, from the way the story reads it doesnt seem like you ever had an opening with this girl at all, BUT even if you did its probably long gone since you never pulled the trigger. Women dont want guys to pussy foot around, they want you to ask them out no matter whether they are going to say yes or no to you.

If she isnt bothering to talk to you, gives one word answers to questions, or otherwise doesnt care at all what you are saying she has little interest in talking to you or getting to know you.
