1) Review your company's rules about dating first. Find out if dating him is going to cause trouble at work. This is extremely important if you're in a position of power over him, say if you make the work schedule etc.
Because .. no i don't think your job should tell you who you can and cannot date (unless you're military cos the UCMJ says they have the right). However you can get yourself in trouble if say... you get accused of preferential treatment. Say if you always give your man better hours etc.
So ... cover your ass first.
2) Why not be friends first? If it's meant to be then... well it's not going to ruin anything if you find out you get along as friends too.
Try simple things first, hanging out at a food place after work. simple stuff that helps you get to know him to see if you even like each other first.
in my opinion too many people jump right into romance and use the dating /romance scene to see if they get along with someone. in my opinion the dating / romance works better when you already like each other first
