The friends who make up lies about you and start rumors aren't your true friends. You might do well by yourself to phase the gossip girls out of your life.
No offense but, "I have been able to get over him for a period of months, but it just comes back", sounds a lot like a rash as far as your recurring crush goes. I dunno what to tell you except perhaps to throw away or at least pack away anything that reminds you of your reoccurring crush. Also whenever you have thoughts of this person distract yourself with something else. Also you can challenge your recurring thoughts about this person by thinking or saying to yourself (if you're alone), I'm not interested in so and so or I'm over him.
One final thing, maybe you can't shake this attraction because he's unavailable, and somewhere in your head you find unavailable people easy to crush on because you're afraid of getting close to anyone.
Maybe true. I just know I will NEVER love, date, marry or have sex with anyone. He is single and has been for a long time. I have crushes on people who are single or unknown of being single. I don't have anything that remind me of him, I just know I see him everyday or every other day.
IIN to have a crush on a guy for almost 4 years?
