It's pretty normal to me. I absolutely hate my name. It just makes me mad that I was not able to pick out my name from the start lol. My parents named me :( and when people read my name they always mess it up. I like the way my name is pronounced but the spelling is horrible. I suggest others not to name there kid something with silent letters like with a "tia" ending because people can't read lol Letia is pronounced Lateesha not La'Tia.
Okay, this feels better to get off my chest.
I had the same feelings about my given name. It was foreign and no one could pronounce it and I got tired of always having to repeat it, or pronounce it right for someone a thousand times. When I got to middle school I changed it. I went by a different form of my name (think Anne forming into Annita) Now everyone calls me the name I want and I love it! My family calls me by my given name and my friends and co-workers call me by the name I love :)
