Is it normal to hate when people put their elbows on a table?

I don't really mind....it's such a small and insignificant thing that I really can't see wasting any time being annoyed by it. Enjoy life..don't nitpick it apart.

There are many contrasts you see from around the world. Living here in the states my whole life, I don't really notice elbows on the table. But when you're not used to it, of course it may be hard to get used to. Some folks here don't even like it. Depends on your view of things.

lol oh so youre classy? I was from Italy too but I had some Italian friends that did not mind to do it. I guess thats the redneck side of my friends :P

I guess I wouldn't really know how to answer this because I don't usually put my elbows up since I was told it's not polite to put them on the table. It's a little strange if you hate someone just because they do something like putting elbows up at dinner.

I don't get it. I don't see why it is a concern or a custom.

yeah i understand. because i was brought up in a strict italian family, i always got told off for things that were considered rude like putting your elbows on the table during a meal. its why i have no tolerance to people with no manners now. but i would rather to have been brought up with manners than with none at all...

Europeans tend to find it rude to put elbows on the table. You've probably picked this up from your time here. For me, I'll do it with good friends, family, or someone I'm intimate with. I'd never do it anywhere formal.
