Yeah, I feel the exact same way about Twilight. I think it's mostly because it's targeted towards teen girls, who catch onto trends pretty quicky. So once that was started, vampires became the 'cool' new thing, which sucks for the rest of us who liked vampires before Twilight.
But in my opinion, the book is poorly written, pathetic and a complete step backwards for feminists ;)
