Is it normal to hate the sound and feeling of certain coarse textures

In my case, I hate this with paper. It makes me hate turning the page in books and packets, and I even hate rubbing my hands together. Some laptop touch pads tend to have a similar texture with the same effect. And both the sound and feeling can really make me shudder. But this comes and goes, sometimes it doesn't bother me at all.

It's not normal but it's more common than you think. Some textures and sounds bother everyone, too.

Maybe it's psychological. For example, I don't like holding a rough wooden object, I expect splinters even if I know I won't get any, it's practically reflex. Maybe your thing with paper is because you're afraid of getting a papercut.

    I personally can't stand styrofoam.
