Exodus 31:12-15
First off, I think the Sabbath is on Saturday.
Second, God is an understanding God. If something absolutely cannot be helped then God will forgive that person. In the new testament Jesus healed on the Sabbath and when he was asked why, Jesus replied that it was better to do good on the Sabbath than evil.
Numbers 15:32-36
Same as I what I said about Exodus 31:12-15.
2 Kings 20:35-36
If you've read the Bible all the way through then you know that lots of foolish people were dealt death quickly.
1 Kings 20:35-36
The Bible says to test to see if things are from God. The man should have asked if was God's will, since the other man claim to have spoken by the words of the Lord. The other man even warned him what would happen if he did not heed the Lord.
2 Samuel 6:3-7
The Lord set very strict rules about how the ark was to be handled.
If there is any claim as demonstrably false as this one, I will be shocked. Your God kills people for disobeying orders that make no damn sense on a whim. He kills for picking up sticks, touching the ark, being of the wrong religion, being born to anyone who has wronged Israel, and many more things equally as stupid.
Your God is supposed to be omnipotent, yet shows the restraint and forbearance of an insufferable child. He is an immoral egotistical capricious being with no more sense than a desert dwelling nomad hallucinating from thirst.
"Same as I what I said about Exodus 31:12-15."
That doesn't work at all. Your God is so understanding that he EXPLICITLY commands the death of this man? He's so forgiving that he orders it done immediately in a needlessly painful way?
"If you've read the Bible all the way through then you know that lots of foolish people were dealt death quickly."
Because it happened to a lot of people, that makes it okay? I think your logic is broken.
"The Bible says to test to see if things are from God. The man should have asked if was God's will, since the other man claim to have spoken by the words of the Lord. The other man even warned him what would happen if he did not heed the Lord."
There are many crazy people in this world that would tell me that God speaks to them. Should I believe them? There are also men who claim to literally be the second coming of Christ. Shall I believe them as well?
"The Lord set very strict rules about how the ark was to be handled."
Can I also make arbitrary rules on things that I can punish infractions of by death? No? Damn. The distinction between deities and mortals is simply one of power and time. The claim to moral authority of your god then is simply his might. Are you then bowing to a might makes right mentality?
Dude, your just a pissy little kid. Your responses confirm that. I see that your the type of atheist who's stuck in his own opinion. You never really cared about how I'd respond, you just wanted to shoot a dude down. Fine, whatever floats your boat.
" So it is fitting that if one has known God and has set his heart against Him to die if he tries to break up the congregation by convincing others to so the same."
particular bit just set me off. I tend to get a bit pissy when someone says I deserve death.
Judges 11:29-40
When he made his vow, it would seem that his eagerness caused him to give his daughter to the Lord. This is like when John the Baptist was beheaded to the king's dismay when he allowed his daughter to have whatever she wished if she were to dance for him, or when Esau gave up his birthright to Jacob for a meal. So they lost something because of a quality a man of God ought not have.
Judges 21:10-24
Did you read Judges 21:25? It says that everyone did what was right in their own eye. God did not instruct them to do anything in this chapter.
Exodus 21:15
Remember the commandment "Honor thy father and mother". The Bible also says that a man ought not to provoke his children. (A man is not allowed to abuse his children)
Deuteronomy 13:7-12
One of the ten commandments states that no one should have any God other than the Lord God. The Bible also says that sin is not counted where it is not known. If a man sins before he was saved then he is forgiven when the Lord becomes his God and he has confessed his sins, but if he does the same thingsafter he is saved and he did not not repent of them he will be judged. So it would be different if he had not known God, remember iit sais if a brother or sister (as in fellowship with God) had done this they were to be put to death, this would be so with a person they did not have fellowship with.
Furthermore, the Bible also states that if a man were to blasphemy the Holy Spirit (denying the Lord's power or existence) after being saved he has no hope of salvation. So it is fitting that if one has known God and has set his heart against Him to die if he tries to break up the congregation by convincing others to so the same.
"This is like when John the Baptist was beheaded to the king's dismay when he allowed his daughter to have whatever she wished if she were to dance for him, or when Esau gave up his birthright to Jacob for a meal."
I don't think adding more fuel to the fire helps any.
"So they lost something because of a quality a man of God ought not have."
No. That girl died. SHE lost her life without doing anything wrong, save going to see her father when he came back from battle.
"God did not instruct them to do anything in this chapter."
Because God has kept a strict policy of not interfering when people do things he doesn't like, right? Yahweh has a history of destroying those who disobey or go against him at all so his inaction here can be taken as roughly condoning the actions.
"Remember the commandment "Honor thy father and mother". The Bible also says that a man ought not to provoke his children. (A man is not allowed to abuse his children)"
How does this help at all? So it's honor your father and mother or die? Good plan to enact with children. They understand long-term consequences and causal relationships perfectly, right?
"So it would be different if he had not known God, remember iit sais if a brother or sister (as in fellowship with God) had done this they were to be put to death, this would be so with a person they did not have fellowship with."
Great so you're telling me the Bible advocates for the death of me and several million other ex-Christians out there in the world. Brilliant.
"So it is fitting that if one has known God and has set his heart against Him to die if he tries to break up the congregation by convincing others to so the same."
And you agree with the Bible's conclusion apparently.

I've been busy with family and school stuff the last few days.
These may be quite long so I'm just going to give you the verses.
First up we have the lesser known sacrificial child of Jephthah, who was burned to death as a sacrifice to the loving Yahweh.
Judges 11:29-40
Next we have an account of systemic rape and kidnapping. Also apparently God can be fooled by anyone with the intellect of a 4 year old.
Judges 21:10-24
Next I'll pull some of the more ridiculous capital crimes.
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death.
-Exodus 21:15
If one person worships false gods, just kill everyone.
-Deuteronomy 13:13-19
In case that wasn't clear enough, here's another on followers of other religions.
-Deuteronomy 13:7-12
Death for workaholics...and also people who just pick up sticks
-Exodus 31:12-15 and Numbers 15:32-36
The mildly famous story of the children insulting Elisha, only to be mauled to death by a she-bear.
-2 Kings 2:23-24
Another prophet randomly siccing a wild animal on people. This time a lion on a grown man. Why? For not hitting the prophet.
-1 Kings 20:35-36
Trying to protect what God apparently treasures most, that's the death penalty.
-2 Samuel 6:3-7
I think that's good enough for now. I can spit off a few dozen more if you want them.
