You sound like me. School was so slow paced and boring for me that I had trouble paying attention to constant repetition. Just remember that they have to keep it that way so the kids who ask things like "is Germany a city in England?"(real question from 11th grade history AFTER we learned about WWII)
I tutor and often wonder how a teacher can spend a week or more teaching something so simple as calculating the area of a rectangle! Then all 30 ten year olds come out of class multiplying length by breadth AND THEN subtracting the length and the breadth off the area. EH?!? I think school spends too long explaining each topic, successfully confusing the kids.
Of course there are the ones who fall asleep or daydream, who don't hear enough to learn anything!
