As an atheist, I try to be respectful to people who aren't atheists. But sometimes I find it difficult to be both respectful and honest because one of us believes in a lie (it's either me, or them, and I think it's them).
But I don't want to steal away someone's faith. This is going to sound strange, but - as an atheist - sometimes you have to be more moral and more caring than people who have the umbrella of religion. I understand your post, but I don't think you're necessarily doing atheists any favours with the way you set about saying things.
Is it normal to hate religion?
