Is it normal to hate popular music?

I find popular music that comes on the radio really bland and dull, im more into punk rock and metal, although I admit I like a few songs by Katy Perry, Basshunter, and Pendulum, but in general I find that sort of stuff really boring. My brother is really into it and hates what I listen to and just calls it 'noise', even though I know this isnt the case it drives me crazy. I feel really weird for not being into 'popular' music, IIN?

    The only pop music singers I really like is Adele and Lady Gaga, so I think you are normal.

    Well isn't this ironic.
    Usually it's the metalheads and rockers that claim electronic music is just noise, not the other way around.
    Either way, a good portion of popular music is plain bad, so I agree with you there.
