I used to hate my name when I was a kid because it sounds so prissy, but now I really love it.!
If it bothers you so much, just start asking people to call you something else. You only need your real name for official legal documents.
Hey, that's my friend's name! I've always like that name and I'm surprised you don't. Anywho, it is normal for people to not like their name, but you should appreciate yours, it's really pretty :)
If I have a Child it will be named Freeda as a female and if a boy little Fredrick!
I like my first name, but I don't like my middle and last name. My middle name is a biblical name and my both sides of my family knew people with that name so they gave me it. I hate it! It's a old woman's name.
Also, I think it's very common to hate your name. The reasoning behind that is, you look at all the possibilities that could have been your name, and think, why didn't my parents just name me something like Amanda ? Tatum is a very pretty name, so I personally don't see why you hate it. There are worse names out there, for example, Laquonda. Tatum is your name. It represents you! Be proud and always keep a smile on your face. (:
Hate mine too. It's Chrissianna so yeahh.. People always ask if my parents were drunk when they named me.
I hate my name! Whenever someone says it it makes me angry because it's such an ugly-sounding combination of phonemes: Lucas. LOOOUUUUUKKKISSSSSSSSS. Even the shortened form is ugly: Luke. LLLLOOOOOOUUUUUUUKH.
I can't believe what interpersonal trainers teach people: "Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
What a load of shit!I could never hear my name said by anyone again and die happy.
^lol people will say my name multiple times and when I answer them they usually say "nothing. I just like to way your name sounds"
Tatum? I love that name! I have a friend with that name, and I love saying it. Its so cute :) But yes, it's normal. Some people get tired of the same name after a while or just hate it from the beginning (:
Tatum is my first name but I have two last names so that always goes over with people in an...interesting way.
I have to spell out my last name. Its Polish XD, I don't really like my middle name but I am fine with my first :) Ands it normal.
I personally like my name it has a nice ring to it. I don't even know if I got married if I would change it. Although my first name is very common it's a popular middle. The only thing that is a pain is my last name. Most conv go like this "last name?" "no your last name"..... "THAT IS MY LAST NAME and you spelt it wrong" either way it all goes nicely together.
Yes I get those nick names.
Thanks for the comments on how u like it but I just don't.
I really like that name! Be happy that you have it. One day you'll appreciate having an uncommon name
I hate my name because when I tell people my names tatun they always ask again like they can't believe that really is on my birth certificate. I don't change it because my parents are so proud of the "unique" name they chose.
I hate my first and middle name. It's so unique that I have to spell it out to EVERYONE. Why couldn't I have been a Jessica or an Amanda?
I hated my middle name as a kid but liked my first name.
My first name was hugely popular when I was born (there were four of us with the same name in my class) but it dropped down the baby name charts like a rock in a pond. No babies are given this name now, meaning when I'm old, I'll have an "old man" name, like Albert or Ernest.
My middle name, though, now sounds contemporary and I don't mind it so much. I'd never want to change either name, though. It's something my parents gave me that can never be taken away.
Same. My name sounds fine in my native language but terrible in English.
Why not request a name change?
