It's normal to dislike and disagree with family members of friends, yes. I think it would be pretty hard for me to like someone who says so many negative things about me and dislikes me so much, too.
There have been a few parents of friends I didn't like as well, and one was similar to how you described, only she strongly disliked everyone her daughter was friends with no matter who they were or what they did, and strongly discouraged her from continuing the friendship (in fact, she was a control freak and just cut off the friendships, herself by taking away my friend's methods of contact; her mom was a very bitter, lonely person with no family or friends besides her daughter, and I think it made her insanely jealous for her daughter to have anyone in her life besides her). A couple of others I disliked were just very self-absorbed and didn't care if anything they did negatively affected their kids as long as they got what they wanted.
Is it normal to hate my friends mother?
