I can't help but wonder whether or not the time and effort was put into this dog to train it..but it is probably best to re-home it, as the dog can and probably is picking up on how you feel about it, and as such is liable to act up more, and by the sounds of it you don't have it in you to train a dog you hate.
If you do, however, have it in you to try with this dog, try and take it for long walks, make them brisk, tire it out, play with it, BOND with it, earn it's affection, try crating it when you're out to stop it destroying stuff, prepare food away from it and teach it that you own its food and regularly take it away to teach it not to be possessive, try clicker training to reward good behaviour, ignore the bad behaviour (punishments and negative reinforcement don't work).
Whether your hatred for the dog is normal or not, i cannot say, i have 4 dogs in my home, one is my own personal dog, and whilst he has some bad habits, i couldn't and don't hate him.
(also, why get 2 new puppies if you can't handle this dog? Just wondering.)
Is it normal to hate my dog even though I love dogs in general

This. Particularly the last line. It baffles me that having an out of control dog would inspire someone to get more dogs :/
