I'm non-religious, and I sort of cringe whenever people bring Christianity into a debate which isn't directly religious. I've had a lot of bad experiences with Christianity, such as going to a Catholic primary school that happened to be shit (I think that one was a bad co-incidence), having a friend who was lured into a toxic church and psychologically hurt from the experience, being a non-religious individual living in the city with the most churches in my country, and having a mother who supports all her children's life choices until she gets drunk and starts going on about how I'm "already a Christian" (because Christian=good in her mind) and I'll "find God eventually".
But you know what? I will not claim that every Christian is bad. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't wary of people when they state that they're Christian, but I won't pass judgement on a person just because they're in a group with bad people in it. There are a lot of Christians. They won't all be good people. Likewise, a large portion of the city I live in are Christians. When someone wrongs me, there's a good chance they will also happen to be Christian.
I will not support someone who claims that every Christian is the same in any respect. Even if I agree with them in every other way, I don't want to be seen supporting that kind of mindless bigotry. Besides, you should always do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. ;)
Is it normal to hate it when people say all Christians are hypocrites?
