It's hypocritical to be annoyed at someone who imitates you. Because it's not like you are a unique person who didn't grow up learning everything by imitating your family/peers. Hopefully this fact will help you change your feeling towards the issue.
Someone adopting my interests, likes, habits, thinking etc doesn't bother me. In fact... if I am able to intentionally or passively influence someone to something new, and they sincerely end up liking it or being that way -- awesome!
...except when people imitate an aspect of your personality for the wrong, shallow, or manipulative reasons. That is a big pet peeve of mine. Thankfully the beauty of this kind of imitation is that such people are easily recognizable, not only cause whatever's imitated is bastardized, but that the new trait may clash with their personality
