Is it normal to hate hearing my problems aren't problems?

Is it normal that I hate when people tell me "that's the way it is". Is it normal that when people tell me my problems are not real problems i get pissed off? No I don't live in a third world country fighting for my life everyday. Yes I do have clothes on my back and food to eat. And yes I can go to the hospital anytime to keep from getting sick and dying. But just because I don't have those type of life threatening extreme problems. Does that really mean my problems aren't problems? No I'm not talking about braking a nail or not being able to go to a concert or get a new pair of shoes. These are not the things that I even label as problems, but just the bs that happens in life; work, family, friends, school, ECT. Am I just supposed to shut up and take it because "that's the way it is " or not even talk about it because those types of problems aren't real problems?

Yes it's normal, sadness pain and anger are emotions everyone feels regardless of how good you've got it. Not allowing yourself to grieve or complain is not allowing yourself to be human.

Also, I suggest considering that the people who respond to this with "don't be whiny" were probably told that themselves. It's hard to have empathy for others when you can't even have empathy for yourself. I used to be a callous asshole when I didn't let myself complain and feel bad.

It's normal for people to behave that way, as in it's common, but it really shouldn't be. Everyone experiences a different life, everyone's problems are relevant to them and everyone should be allowed to vent.

It can be easy, if one is dealing with worse things to downplay the problems of others, but that's a biased way of looking at things. Simple analogy... an infant cries like crazy when they trip and fall because it is the worst pain that they have so far experienced. Your first heartbreak hurts like hell because you've never felt that way before.

Some people lack that perspective, or lack the empathy to understand what another person is going through. But that's a reflection on you, it's a reflection on them. You're only human. We all are. You're allowed to feel the way you feel.

How exactly does one brake a nail, and does it leave skid marks on the road?

    Depends on the problem.

That depends on what your problems are. Maybe you are overreacting, maybe not. It's hard to say without more information.

Since you don't even bother to give an example you should just shut up and deal with them.

If your biggest issue in life is people don't care about your problems you have nothing to complain about. No one gives a shit about other peoples problems and yup that's life.
