I deleted my Facebook for exactly that reason. When people post every little thing its a cry for attention, like "look at me...look at me! COME ON, give me attention!!!" They figure the more they put out there, the better their odds are at getting something back. I don't see the appeal, and it bugs me enough, so I just got rid of mine. Problem solved.
