Is it normal to hate everyone around you?

Perhaps I've become more cynical the older I have gotten. It seems to me that most people in this world (let's say 98%) are nothing but self centered jerks. I want to know if it's normal to hate almost everyone around you. The only people I enjoy being around are my family and a very select group of friends. Sadly, I am even beginning to hate some of them because of their attitudes. Am I normal?

      I love that book :) The protagonist calls everyone a phony... the older I get, the more I agree with him.

    I feel the same. I can almost always find something that I truly hate from the bottom of my heart in nearly everyone I meet. After all, this world is loaded with hypocrisy, corruption, greed, politics, and the list goes on. People lie, steal, cheat, blackmail, and bribe others as part of a normal basis. And the worst part of it all is that this is all compulsive and impulsive, meaning that we honestly can't resist these temptations. But what I really hate is the incomprehensible amount of ignorance in human beings. There are millions upon billions of people who claim to want to protect the planet, despite that they themselves clearly couldn't give two shits about it, thinking things like "It's not like it's goin' ta end durin' ma lifetime" ever so inconsiderately for other beings' welfare. If a pandemic struck that killed off 80% of humanity and resulted in the overgrowth of plants and beautiful flowers and trees atop abandoned buildings, bounding with refreshed life, I would be happy to behold such a beautiful scene, and happy to berid of the ever so uncontrollably huge and expanding human population.
