Most funny people developed a sense of humour as a way of avoiding being bullied. If black comedians are talking about being black, Jewish comedians about being Jewish, Iranian comedians about being Iranian (we have two here and they both talk about it quite a lot), then doesn't it say something deeper about society?
So it would be acceptable for a caucasian to joke about "White Guilt" complex?
The caucasian POV on this subject might be joking about being overly PC, like never saying "black", always "african-american", even out of context. Talking about how they get offended by other races being insulted, too.
I find it annoying that there is a double-standard in this context, and all contexts when it comes to racial inequality. Something like minority quotas is not helping the issue, neither are taboo words. Words have power.
Is it normal to hate black comedians talking about being black?
