I hate compliments too coz as a child the only time anyone ever said anything nice to me, was to get me to do something for them - run errands, etc.
It annoys me when men insult my intelligence by thinking I'm so stupid as to believe them OR it annoys me that they think I care what they think.
However, I met my housekeeper out last week - who only sees me first thing in the morning when I stagger out of bed. Anyhow, I was dressed and made-up for a night out and initially she didn't know me. Then she ran over and said "OMG I didn't know it was you! You are so beautiful!" She is a lovely person and I can honestly say that this is the first compliment I have ever appreciated in my whole life.
Is it normal to hate being complemented? (please read on)
