I hate to say this because you consider him a good friend, but this isn't healthy, and unless he is blind he probably knows on some level that you are attracted to him. Depending on your workplace, it might be a good idea to look for transfer or department change opportunities that would involve being around him less often, unless you can train yourself to avoid thinking of him in that way. If I am attracted to someone I have to see all the time, I try to concentrate on their flaws or whatever boring hobbies or bad habits they have, it works for me =D
