Is it normal to go to hell for a day?

Okay, so I was having a random conversation with a group of friends and we were all discussing how some of us would go to hell for a day for peace and happiness (i agreed that i would do this) so i decided to take the question to friends at school.

I simply asked:

If God came to you and said: You can have a lifetime of peace and happiness and have everything your heart desires but you must live in Hell for 24 hours. Would you?

And the roar that came afterwards! People kept saying I shouldn't "think" that way and I'm crazy and blah blah blah.

I'm simply being hypothetical as of course this would never happen...but I just wanted to know what would you do? If you have time...please explain why you chose the answer you did.

    I'd so go to hell. Ask satan if he wants a cup of tea, or a picnic, or something. He seems like a mean guy, but maybe no one's ever asked him if he wants a picnic. You never know, he could be a picnic kind of guy, in that case, hell would be a wonderful place. You might even make a friend or two.

    I would go just for the experience. For example if hell was real I would gladly go there for 24 hours to see how bad it is and to see if I should become a good person so I dont spend eternity in there.
    You would have to think about the mental damage you would get in such a place aswell so yes you would go there for 24 hours and have the rest of your life in bliss but the side effect is that you could go crazy.

    Okay my first reaction was that if "God" came to me and made this proposal, I would be afraid that this being was actually the Devil in disguise trying to get my soul into hell so I would probably refuse.

    My second reaction was when I realized that I've already done this in my life! When I told my previous girlfriend that I was leaving her for my present girlfriend, she made my life a living hell as I was moving out for 24 hours, but afterwards I've had a lifetime of peace and happiness. :-D

    I am reminded of the movie Bedazzled where the Devil gives Brandon Frasier several wishes, and no matter what good thing he wishes for and how he phrases his wish, the Devil finds a way to screw it up....because it was never possible to easily get what he wanted and how he wanted it.... in your question, God is making the offer, but in the Bible God's wrath is just as powerful and fickle and his benevolence....so I'd play it safe and not do the 24 hours....I'd rather live life with all its complexities on my own terms and take responsibility for it...

      Thank you so much...you can't even imagine the anger i had towards them during this discussion. I called them all idiots and walked away, i get pissed when people can't get hypothectical or have a vivid imagination. I'm glad someone understands Loool...

    I don't really believe in Heaven/Hell (I'm not sure if I should think it's real or not), but I'd go under the condition that I'll return safely :D

    I would love to whip the hell out of some pedophiles! Castrations and all! If I could have any job in the world it would be to execute pedophiles. But I don't believe in heaven or hell so ya..

    This sounds very similar to a famous conversation about how much angles could stand on one pinhead. Essentially the conversation was mental masturbation, as all hypotheticals seem to be.
