Is it normal? Yes it is normal behavior for an addict/alcoholic to behave this way. I am clean and sober from coke/alcohol/pills. I am sober 4.5 years now, but it took me SEVERAL relapses before I finally stopped for what I hope is forever. You asked, as I did, "am I ever going to get over this?!" Here's the only answer that helped me: when the sense of hopelessness and defeat are great enough, you will either go to a rehab, or get to a 12 step meeting. But it sounds like you aren't as hopelessly defeated as you need to be to finally get and stay clean and sober. Its tremendously dificult being in your position. I remember. I hope you make it to sobriety.
