I don't have an eating disorder, but I am extremely fond of sweets. The only way I've found to limit my consumption is to have enough discipline when shopping not to stock up. If there's chocolate or biscuits in the house, they will get eaten, but if they aren't available, I'm too lazy to actually get in the car and go out to buy some.
Sounds a lot like me: I just don't buy biscuits or cakes, lollies very occasionally (less than once a month) which I nearly always eat in the car before I get home and then can't remember doing it, let alone enjoying them.
I only buy the darkest darkest blackest chocolate I can find, because it's too rich to eat more than a tiny bit at a time; I'm talking about one block a month.
I find that strategy easier because I only have to exercise restraint for a few moments when I see the junk food in the supermarket. If I buy the stuff, then I have to deal with the constant thought in the back of my head when I'm home that something yummy is in the cupboard.
Self-restraint is not one of my strengths, and fortunately the people I live with aren't that keen on sweet stuff, so they don't miss it if we don't buy it. Their weakness is cheese and other fatty stuff, and I have no problems resisting that.
Is it normal to go from starving myself to binge eating

That takes some good restraint, but I will try that, thank you
