Is it normal to get this feeling

So, when I've been sitting or lying down for a period of time longer than 3 minutes and then stand up fairly quickly, I get a dizzy, blackout feeling and I start to feel feverish? It only lasts a few seconds, but it is bothersome. This also happens when I've been standing for a long time. I was standing up at a Christmas tree lghting for a long time, and I passed out. And also when I was standing at my school morning assembly and heading back to class, I threw up. I also can't kneel in church without getting this feeling. This happens a lot. I would very much appreciate some advice...

Anaemia? Get it checked out by your GP, I'm not too good with stuff like this (I'm 14)

I get this on occasion. You should see a doctor, to make sure it isn't anything serious.

Random was spot on. I've also had this. It sounds very much like postural hypotension - low blood pressure triggered by standing from a sitting or lying position. However, the fact that you're vomiting as well is a worry. I'd get that checked. Other than that, remember that the reason we faint in this situation is to force the body to a prone position so that blood can reach the brain. For this reason, you shouldn't try to make someone who's fainted, stand back up. It defeats the body's purpose in having made them faint to begin with! More salt is often the right advice, but I still think you should get checked and find out the underlying cause.

Try not locking your joints, like your knees. Or it could be that you aren't active. But you really should see a doctor.

It's your blood pooling in your legs and your blood pressure dropping. Try talking to your doctor and he will suggest consuming more salt in your diet, drinking more water, and exercising to strengthen the muscles in your legs. I suffer from the same thing....

i see you have a pattern with standing up, and then having that feeling. the problem is most likely that you are locking your legs, as in, straightening out the whole leg; just bend your knees a bit so that the blood flow isnt restricted.
