This craze was started when preteens and some(not very mature teens) Tooned in to watch south park,the episode where cartman makes fun of "gingers" than becomes one.
It is very stupid to take any vaules or life lessons from an adult COMDEY cartoon.
You laugh you move on.
It's just a joke.
Even the creators of south park have said people should not take the show so serously to watch it and apply it to their lifes.
I mean what kind of idoit does that?
The people teasing you are very stupid you should feel bad for them.

In the UK it's been around for far longer than South Park. People with red hair have been on the receiving end of bullying, verbal and physical, for 100s of years.
Lots of people get teased for something, but the problem is when it becomes socially acceptable to tease someone. In the UK programs like South Park, tabloid newspapers (The Sun, The Daily Mail), various websites have all contributed to the notion that taking the piss out of the redhead minority of people is OK, but it's already part of our culture, just as it's apparently socially acceptable to take the mick out of fat people. I would like to point out the majority of bullying towards redheads is against boys, not girls; girls with red hair are positively portrayed in media, women with red hair are stereotyped as sexual fantasies.
My brother has red hair and was bullied plenty as a kid. Strangers would call out insults across the street, he got spat on by some random kids because of his hair, punched in the face etc. And that was all outside school. If he was black, he wouldn't have any of these problems because of conscious social conditioning, we're all instilled with the idea that racism is bad, certain words are bad etc. Teachers would care if he was black. It's a double standard. My brother's teachers didn't care, in fact some of them took the piss out of him because of his hair too. Cunts.
In 2009 a kid committed suicide because of bullying about his red hair. It can seriously be THAT bad, that damaging.
This is sooooooooooooooooo completely true! I went to the UK once, and I got insulted by random people in the street and everything. It was the worst week of my life. And it's true what you say about boys, my brother has always had it worse than me because of his hair, but people tease me as well, and I'm a girl. In school he would always get beat up, and bullies always targeted him. When he got on the bus people would throw textbooks at him and spit wads. It was so terrible. And yeah, it's true what you say about it being socially acceptable. People don't think there's anything wrong with harassing people just because of their hair. Some of my teachers would even make fun of me in school. Elementary, middle, and high school as well. And the teachers would just laugh when other students would make jokes about my hair. Hopefully this will all end someday.
