Is it normal to get really bad headaches...?

Every month or two I get this really bad headache, and no it's not a migraine, that lasts for a week and a half. It's a really awful feeling and it keeps me from doing anything productive. I've taken asprin, migraine, and even a special prescription, but none of them seem to help. Does anyone else get this? Is this normal?

I'm guessing you have already been to your doctor? If not, get there as soon as!

If it is at about the same time every month and located on one side of your head, it sounds like what is called a cluster headache. Pain killers won't help it. I get them too. I looked them up on webmd, and it said that the cause is unknown still. They suck I know, but try cutting back on caffine in the 2 or 3 days before you normally get them and during the headache days. It's helped mine some.
