Is it normal to get nightmares or wake up abruptly sleeping on my back?

I tried to sleep on my back so as to adapt to various sleeping positions. However, this has been giving me problems. In either way, I would get nightmares and wake up abruptly, or I could not move when I was about to wake up. Is that sleep paralysis? I do not encounter all these problems when I sleep sideways. Is there problem with my body?

Normally you dream more and can have more nightmares when you sleep on your back. No clue why. But it's not nonsense.

Also no, it's not sleep paralysis. That shit is absolutely terrifying. You see stuff, weird, scary undefinable stuff and you can't move. You are screaming inside, forcing every muscle in your body to move to no avail. I've experiences sleep paralysis twice and it was messed up.

Both times I experienced that I was on my back, tired, but also with a lot on my mind.

That's a very interesting fact which I didn't know but have now googled, only to find that left side sleepers like myself have more nightmares than right side sleepers: I didn't know that either. In fact, I very rarely have nightmares anyway.
