Is it normal to get nervous in chatrooms?

I never know what to write and I'm scared they will find me boring

I found a good chat room called meebo, but now its shutting down.
it took me years to get into it.
but ya, i was nervous my first time going on there as well

I get that sometimes. I find it helps to change my username (if you can) do something nobody would recognize so if you say anything stupid the next time you're there nobody will know it was you.

Your behind a computer monitor the people cannot see who you are. They don't know who you are, Unless you tell them who you are, and if you go on webcam. But honestly your anonymous on the internet.

why would you be nervous in a chat room?

isnt the whole purpose of a chat room to meet new people and stuff?
