Is it normal to get blackouts

Almost everytime I get up after laying down or sitting for a while everything goes black for about 25 seconds. Its almost like when you squeeze your eyes shut really hard then open the again and you cant see. After a while my vision comed back, of course after I crash into some walls. I dont know how to stop this. BTW as far as I know I dont have vertigo or anything like that.

Maybe your borderline anemic, I felt like I was gonna pass out after I had a certain procedure done. Go to The doctor And ask for a blood test. Then u should know for sure.

Check your blood pressure. Could be too low.

  • Yeah this happens to me too, and also when I go on big roller coasters that have a big hill then go down really fast. I think it's normal but Ive never been to the doctors about it or anything.

I have a condition called POTS. Check it out online...it shares the same issues as what you describe. Good luck!

I get these once in a while, but I answered no because mine only last for about 10 seconds.

  • I have this problem too. It's normal. My neurologist(who I went to for migraines) said that in your neck there is a sensor that alerts your brain to your changing of position. If your like me because I will have blackouts for 45secs- a min then your sensor is just slow in responding. Try getting up slowly.

Not for 25 seconds no. You should seek help. I get dizzy sometimes but never lose my vision, let alone for 25 seconds

Compleatly. When you sit or lie down, blood travels around your body better than standing up. When you've been sitting or lying for a long time and suddently stand up, blood rushes to your head, causing temporary blindness.
