Is it normal to get annoyed when..

Is it normal to get annoyed if you ask someone what car they drive and they say something like "a red one" or "a sedan" or "a little one"
It makes me mad! Because a) obviously they don't care enough about the car to know b) how will they ever describe it to the police if it gets stolen and c) why would you buy a car based on colour and shape etc.
If it was performance, fuel efficiency, or even devotion to a specific make or model, it's understandable. is it normal for me to get annoyed over this?

Keep in mind in an enthusiast, and please no BS comments.

  • ^ I have heard many many people say it!!! It sucks .. It's an " ....ok" "...what kinda red car?" moment... To which ill probably get "a cute one" or a "little one" ... And that's when I leave. :)

  • I've never heard a person say anything like that when I ask what car they drive. They always say the make/model.

  • My best mate's on-off partner and me have a running joke like this. I ask her what type of bicycle she's got and she replies, "a green one".

I know what you mean, though. Why don't you rephrase your question to be more specific, such as - what make and model of car do you drive?
