It's normal to get angry and to want to hit someone you trust when you're angry-- you're a human being and being violent is actually pretty normal. We usually won't act violent with people we don't know-- the social contract and other societal pressures act as something of a brick wall towards that kind of behavior that makes most well-to-do people unable to hit someone they don't know, but it's also normal for those limiters to not apply for someone we consider close and trusted. The important part to remember is that these are the people that it is most important for you to NOT hit. When you want to, think about what you're doing, what you're gonna be doing to him, your relationship, and by extention yourself by doing it, and just choose not to.
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting to harm people, but having the self control to choose not to is a very important part of life. Don't beat yourself up too much for past mistakes, but learn from your mistakes, fix what damage you can, move on if you can't, and above all, make yourself a better person for the experience. It's all part of life.
