It's normal. I've heard it once or twice. I'd say it's because I'm honest. Maybe the more honest you are, the more people realize you are a complex human being and not the static 2-d person they thought you were.
I wondered if honesty was part of the key. One friend said to me and another friend: "I've never met anyone like (my name). He's so honest." (The context was rather warm and we were all sharing things good and bad about life).
