Ah. Trouble is that I've lost quite a bit of weight before by basically starving myself. If what you're saying were true, people with anorexia would be huge.
People who are anorexic don't eat XD
However, if you are anorexic and you stop eating for such a long time, resuming regular eating habits will make the food turn into fat much more quickly because your body is in survival mode and believes it is starving so it is trying to store as much fat as possible before the food supply "runs out" again.
That's not true. Most people with anorexia eat some. There are cases where people starve themselves completely, but usually, people eat a small amount.
That's not always true. You can be anorexic and eat 800 calories a day. In terms of how quickly you get sick, there's a huge difference between 800 calories a day and 100.
My perspective on what constitutes "an incredibly small amount" might be shot, though.
Is it normal to gain wieght when you do not eat?

Your metabolic basically stops when you don't eat, so you can't burn off fat. It our body natural way of going into "survival mode."

An incredibly small amount, not enough to make any sort of difference.
