I could forgive a cheater but I wouldn't forget and there in lies the problem. I from that point forward would probably question everything and always have doubt in the back of my mind. Which ultimately would destroy the relationship if I didn't leave them for cheating.
Some people don't want to be hurt by the same person again. I agree that some people may cheat and regret it and never do it again but I think the fact that one cheats belies a bigger problem of being s deceitful person in general.
Is it normal to forgive a cheater? Would you?

You have to try to forgive them. What if someone in your family broke your trust once? What if a close friend did?
You have to try. It may be hard, but people can change for the better! :)
