Some people with bipolar are highly sexual when in their mania stage and it is quite common for some to become unusually flirtatious or even promiscuous during this period. So a temporarily heightened libido can be a consequence of bipolar.
Fair enough, but some people aren't that capable of controlling themselves during hypomania. It's not taking away responsibility by being honest about what such a mood disorder can do, it just helps explain certain behaviour.
I mean, in so much as the disorder is part of you, it's the disorder AND you. Not one or the other.
It might not be cheating, but I'm sure most guys would be rightly pissed if their girlfriend constantly flirted with any random guy she met. I know I wouldn't like it and I know it would be enough to make me end a relationship with her if it didn't change, bipolar or not.
Sometimes people take being nice as fitting. That's what worries me. Someone might think they're flirting, when they're only being nice. It's a thin line kind of.
I guess flirting wouldn't be considered cheating if you were a swinger or a polygamist. To each their own. I guess it's normal though to flirt, it's something humans do. lol
I learned in psychology class that being bipolar actually can make some people flirtatious and want sex more. It's weird. Medication can make it worse... I actually knew someone who was bipolar as well; she was very promiscuous
Is it normal to flirt with tons of guys in one day?

Why would you blame it on being bipolar?????
And I never thought flirting as cheating.

I'm bipolar and I never blamed it on my disorder. It's not the disorder. It's you. No excuses.

Oh and of course add to that the usual 'risk taking behaviour' and impulsivity that commonly comes with a manic episode.
