Is it normal to find sex less disgusting than kissing?

This guy likes me and he recently asked me out. Last night we went to a mixer and we freaked the entire time, and I really didn't mind. I rather enjoyed making him aroused.
However, he tried kissing me for the first time (and it was actually my first kiss ever and he didn't know that) and it was disgusting. His mouth is enormous and his spit kept going everywhere that I would attempt to pull away at times and wipe my mouth on his shirt when we were dancing.
He kept kissing me and I seriously almost threw up in his mouth.
Is it normal that I want to go further with him without the kissing? Is that possible without hurting his feelings?

    Kissing is pretty much overrated, I feel a good licking and sucking of the vagina gets a girl nice and wet all the time!

    Yeah, there are ton of hookers that won't kiss me on the mouth. It's not common but no man in the history of niggerdom is going to turn you down just because he can't kiss you.
