Is it normal to find out a close family member has cancer and not care

I just got told my uncle has cancer and I just said oh okay but then I just continued doing whatever I was doing and didn't think about it again. Then I started thinking is it normal that i dont care? This is an uncle that is fairly close to me and has been there my whole life, and is a loved family member, not just some distant uncle. what is wrong with me??

    im 21 years old and yep i think maybe i just havent processed it yet it just freaked me out that i didnt care at all!
