Is it normal to find headbanging unexciting?

Headbanging to music just isn't fun for me. I don't understand why everybody likes it so much. When I'm listening to music, I just sit and listen to it - perhaps I do a bit of air guitar or air drumming. That's how I enjoy music. But sitting there slamming your face in the direction of the ground is just tiring and boring to me.

    Headbanging is just like any style of exercise! You have to use the right techniques and warm up so that you dont hurt your neck. Ive been doing it for years and it never affects me

    I hate headbanging too, all it does it hurt your neck and makes you look like a fool. When I hear rock/metal I just dance in my seat.

    I only air drum, even listening to metal I will still never headbang. For me, it just isn't the best way to use up adrenaline. It isn't a natural thing for me to do when I'm pumped.

    Well, that's new to me. I pretty much love headbanging.
    Don't like air guitarring though, looks dumb and says "I am a poser".

      Shut.The.Fuck.Up. The music is excellent and full of energy. Headbanging is a way to show how much I love the music. I only do it at concerts though. And another thing, why the hell would anyone want to TRY to tolerate bad music in the first place?! What are you?
