grunge is awesome nirvana were my favorite band since i was like 6! i get the same feeling as you only with house music (old skool house) it has such a liquid, dreamy sound can be very upbeat or reflective and i love the old skool synths and drums of late 80s, early 90s house, but yea i would say its normal if you like a song, you feel good listning to it no matter what its about, nirvanas songs are as fresh today as they always were :)
