Is it normal to feel you will forget your promises in future?

So recently I picked up that if u had kids u will forget every plan u made for your children up till they are born and go over protective.I don't have any kids yet but I do plan to control my feelings no matter what but somehow.yet I feel I am going to screw up every thing and make my kids hate me.is this a normal thing to feel?

    Hey get a notebook write or type them down, the promises and make a nice tittle page.
