Is it normal to feel very embarrassed about farting?

This is kind of awkward, but I've read a lot of posts where people seem entirely comfortable farting anywhere at all, and I'm not sure how normal I am. The only time I will allow myself to fart is either when I am completely alone and know that no one will be visiting my room soon, or if I'm outside and triple-checked behind me that no one is nearby. I also have no idea if my room smells bad or anything - I usually spray extra deodorant around just in case.

There was also a case where I was on a plane travelling long-haul and felt really nervous about falling asleep in case I accidentally farted. I'm not entirely sure if I have something wrong with me because I do seem to need to fart quite a lot, but it could just be because I generally hold it in to wait for the right conditions as mentioned above. But leaving that aside do most people just fart whenever? I should mention that over the course of my life so far I have managed to perfect the art of silent farting with 99.9% accuracy so noise is never a problem for me. I would still find it extremely awkward to be in a cafe or something and fart in close proximity to someone else.

Fuck this question sounds really weird, I promise this isn't some weird fart-fetish thing...
